A little about Julia... a.k.a. ME
Hi Everyone! My name is Julia. I am an architect by trade, and a self-defined sewist, daring DIYer, obsessive crafter, entrepreneur, designer, power tool addict, mother, daughter, wife, and above all, woman. I am an Argentine girl voluntarily exiled to Thunder Bay, Canada.
I own and operate an Etsy shop called Mommy Can Sew, and I am the creative mind behind Julia with an H.
The name for the blog is a little tongue-in-cheek reference to the proper pronunciation of my name (even though it's in fact spelled "Julia", it is Spanish, so it actually sounds more like "Hoolia" to English speakers).
Ever since I was a kid I have loved making things... all sorts of things. On any given day I'll have a million different ideas running through my head, and more than a few projects on my table at various stages of completion. I don't always get it right, but I always try... and I'm really good at hiding mistakes. My blog is my place where I share all of these trials and errors with you, along with other creative and personal shenanigans.
Hope you'll stick around!
A blog is (finally) born...
Hi everyone, welcome to my blog!
I can't believe I am finally typing these words right now. I have been wanting to start my very own blog for years (and I mean YEARS), but as with everything else in life, I take my sweet time researching, learning and deliberating whether I should do it, whether I can commit to it, whether people are going to find my tutorials and posts useful and interesting. I tend to take things seriously (too seriously??), but even though it takes me a long time to make decisions, when I finally do there is no changing my mind. And so... here I am... trying to put some words down on my very first blog post. Lets start by introducing myself...
