A blog is (finally) born...

Published: Tuesday, 01 August 2017

My name is Julia. I am an architect by trade, and a self-defined sewist, daring DIYer, obsessive crafter, entrepreneur, designer, power tool addict, mother, daughter, wife, and above all, woman. I am also an Argentine voluntarily exiled to Thunder Bay (love was at fault here). I own and operate a little online shop called "Mommy Can Sew", which I started a little over 5 years ago (time does fly!), and so I spend my days designing and making all sorts of products for babies, children and new parents. You can find my products through my Etsy shop or through my Facebook Page. You can also learn more about my creative adventures through my Instagram account.

I love making things... all sorts of things. I always have, ever since I was a kid. On any given day I'll have a million different ideas running through my head, and more than a few projects on my table at various stages of completion. I don't always get it right, but I always try... and I'm really good at hiding mistakes.

My life motto...

The idea for this blog is to have a place where I can share all of these trials and errors with you, and to include tons of fun tutorials, along with other creative (and personal) shenanigans.

The name for the blog is a little tongue-in-cheek reference to the proper pronunciation of my name (even though it's in fact spelled "Julia", it is Spanish, so it actually sounds more like "Hoolia" to English speakers).

So this is it. My first blog post is going live. I'll be learning about this whole blogosphere world as I go, please be patient with this newbie.

It's game on! Hope you'll stick around.
